Food: Jogoya

Courtesy of one of my colleague's husband, we got vouchers to go to Jogoya, located on the Relish Floor of Starhill.

Jogoya is a buffet restaurant that serves mainly Japanese food, but not really restricted to Japanese food. Japanese and Seafood I guess.

The place was quite fancy schmancy so I was hesitant to take Elsa out and start snapping, especially since Elsa's not too fond on being silent. She's quite flashy too... so here are the ones I managed to snap...

Hot tissue

Our table

Lamb with some veges and wild mushroom

Venison

Chicken Wings and Grilled Alaskan Squid

Tomyam Soup

Shark's Fin Soup

Oysters

Jogoya Pins

You take the pins and put it at a counter for a dish you want. They'll whip it up and send em over to your table. Yup, some stuff are not cooked yet so they'll do it once you put your pin there.
The shark's fin soup was nice. As were the oysters. Fresh. :)
I especially like the Alaskan Squid. I haven't had that Alaskan Squid before. I'd imagine all squid tasted the same but the Alaskan type has a different texture to it.
The lamb and the venison was also delicious. Who would've thought that venison would be served there...
I might go there a second time at the end of the month. Now that I know the layout, I'd probably enjoy it more... :)
Venue: Jogoya, Relish Floor, Starhill, Bukit Bintang
Cost: (with voucher) RM60 each (totally worth it)
Foodie: Panzer, Zafirah, Aidil

Food: Minnie Chop

Minnie Chop is located in Kampung Baru. Um, drawing a blank where exactly it is. Yes, I know there's a lot of eateries there... I'll find out and post the info here again...

It does have a distinguishing cowboy hat at the entrance though, if it helps... and the deco/ambience inside is like a saloon in the Old Wild West... nifty... :)

Where's Will Smith?
The food are mostly western but I am sure there are other food as well. Me and two colleagues went there after work one night coz we pass by the place a few times, sending one colleague home.

My Chicken Cordon Bleu

Chicken Maryland (or is it Fish)

Chicken Chop

Mushroom Soup

The mushroom soup tasted more Campbell's than homemade. I did not taste the others' dish but mine was ordinary. Secret Recipe's Cordon Bleu fares better but this one's cheaper so pick your poison. Price or taste...
The purple cabbage coleslaw's kinda nice... haven't had any purple coleslaw before... :)
Venue: Minnie's Chop, Kampung Baru
Cost: Rm40

Food: Waroeng Penyet

During the break for MFA Bowling Tournament at Cineleisure, me and colleagues couldn't decide what to eat. I wanted to try Paddington House of Pancakes. One colleague wanted Kenny Rogers. One couldn't decide and the other one just wanted to follow the lead.

I told them we don't have to eat at the same place and we could go off on our own and meet back up at the bowling alley.

I remembered Waroeng Penyet at The Curve so I wanted to go there. They all wanted to follow. *shrugs*

The front of the store

Menu displayed at the side glass wall

I ordered the Soda Gembira, which is Sirap Bandung with Ice Cream Soda
Beef Soup

Forgot the name... similar to rojak...

Ayam penyet...

which we all ordered...

I've only been to one other 'Penyet' restaurant. The one in Taman Dagang called Wong Solo.
I think the food is slightly better at Waroeng but Wong Solo has a better ambience...

The aftermath...

Venue: Waroeng Penyet, The Curve
Cost: RM60

Food: Secret Recipe

While waiting for my fren to show up (we were going to watch Watchmen in Times Square), I went ahead and had dinner at Secret Recipe.

Secret Recipe has one of my favorite dishes. The Chicken Cordon Bleu. No other venues make it as good as Secret Recipe.

Free Bread Sticks
Green Apple Kasturi

Mushroom Soup

Chicken Cordon Bleu

Gooey cheese center...

Hazelnut Cheese Cake
As usual, the Cordon Bleu did not disappoint. It's crunchy on the outside, tender on the inside and gooey at the center.
The Hazelnut Cheesecake was quite nice also. The mushroom soup was a bit of a letdown. Tasted like it was made from the powdered mix or from a can. Guess that's expected eh?
All in all, Secret Recipe has a winner with the Cordon Bleu... :)
Venue: Secret Recipe, Berjaya Times Square
Cost: RM60 +
Foodie: Abah
