delicious

Ada sorang colleague Wan, masa lunch tadi, dia pegi delicious kat Jalan Tun Razak (Dua Residence) sebab ada lunch appointment...

Lepas lunch, tetiba ada beg turqouise ni kat meja Wan...

Apa agaknya dalam nih...

Kotak ni... cantik... putih pastu indent deco...

Chocolate Pavlova with strawberries...

Sodapnyer... :)

Info:
Pavlova is made by beating egg whites (and sometimes salt) to a very stiff consistency before folding in caster sugar, white vinegar, cornstarch, and sometimes vanilla, and slow-baking the mixture similarly to meringue. This makes the outside of the pavlova a crisp crunchy shell, while the interior remains soft and moist. The pavlova's internal consistency is thus completely different from that normally associated with meringue, having more of a soft marshmallow texture. This difference is due to the addition of cornstarch, the use of which is the defining feature of a pavlova recipe.

Mezzaluna

Sapa kenal Nigella Lawson? Dia ni chef feberet Wan... selalu show dia ada kat Asian Food Channel atau Discovery Travel & Living... Wan suka dia sebab dia ni ala2 kelakar and bila masak2 tu dia selalu bagi tips untuk guna bahan alternatif untuk bahan2 yg dia gunakan... berguna gak sebab kat sini susah gak nak carik barang2 yg dia guna...

Ni dia Nigella... cantik kan? :)
Kalau dia prepare herbs untuk masakan dan perlu dicincang halus tu, dia selalu guna alat special nih...

Mezzaluna namanya...

Pisau yg ada dua handle... Lepas tengok tu, Wan pun obsessed nak beli... walaupun takde la memasak selalu sangat dan takde la kena chop herbs selalu sangat tapi dah teruja, nak wat camner kan... carik2 kat KL ni tak terjumpa... kecuali kat Dua Residence (yg ada Delicious tu) kat Jalan Tun Razak... tapi kecik jer mezzaluna tu and harga dia 200 lebey... huhuhu
Pastu, ada colleague Wan terjumpa lak Herb Chopper kat Ikea... Wan pun pegi lar Ikea utk beli... lain rupanya... tak sama cam mezzaluna Nigella
Yang camni agak susah sket nak chop2... huhuhu...
Semalam Wan pegi Cash Converters kat Ampang and Wan terjumpa nih...

Hah! Mezzaluna! Walaupun handle kayu tapi hampir sangat lar dengan Nigella nyer Mezzaluna... murah lak tuh... tatau lar efektif tak masa chopping nanti, tak sempat testing lagi...
Anyway, kalau sesapa pegi over the sea ker, tolong belikan Mezzaluna tu utk Wan k? Hhehehe... tak pun sponsorkan Wan utk beli over the internet jer sbg besday present bulan 6 ni... :P

Food: Satay

Last month, my family was in town coz my uncle was admitted to HKL. After coming back from the hospital, everybody was hungry so I suggested this restaurant ...

Satay @ Restoran Mulia AKA Pulau, which is in front of the Celcom Building, facing Jalan Tun Razak.

They haven't had it yet. They only know Satay Kajang so I thought they oughta have a taste of something right in KL...

Nice plump satay

Kuah kacang and sambal...

Nasi impit
But they also decided to order other food... for me, the satay is enough... apparently they did not know the size of the satay meat is quite huge... see? size does matter... hehehehe
My dad's Lamb Chop

The kids ordered Chicken Chop

Niece

Nephew

They enjoyed the food and as predicted, we ended up tapau-ing the satay and chopping it up and re-fry it with some rice the next day...

Food: Satay @ Mulia

Was stuck at the office Wednesday night (mostly by choice since it's jammed like hell outside) and had cravings for satay. Managed to convince two colleagues to brave the traffic and head to 'Pulau' (Island) or Miami as a certain DJ colleague of mine called it.

They serve the best satay there apparently. I had a taste of it and kinda agree that it was the best I've had. The satay was huge and it was not dry. The meat was quite moist and succulent. The kuah kacang is a delight, especially when you add in the (sambal) chili paste. Yum.

Satay chicken and beef

Nasi impit with cucumber and onion

The kuah kacang (peanut gravy) and the sambal (in the smallest bowl with the green spoon)

One of the abangs hard at work cooking the satay over a grill

Radio24's Tan Su Lin (1st timer) posing with the satay before devouring it.

Delicious indeed and quite cheap too.
Venue: Restoran Mulia (Pulau/Miami), In front Celcom Building, Jalan Tun Razak
Cost: RM0.60 per stick
Foodie: Fahmi, Su Lin
